I welcome you to visit my display's and others before having your trophy mounted.
Put cotton in the mouth, slip the bird into a nylon stocking or plastic bag head first. Freeze or take to your taxidermist as soon as possible.
Never cut the belly to get the meat, your taxidermist can save the meat for you, if requested. Freeze the fish in wet cloth towels, rags or plastic bags, protecting the fins as much as possible.
Never cut the throat, most animals when shot will bleed internally. When skinning don't cut up the back of the neck, roll the skin up like taking a sock off backwards. If caping the animal is necessary because of warm weather or transportation, then cape in the usual manner. Always leave plenty of skin, well behind the front legs and brisket for a full sholder mount. Freeze or take your trophy to your taxidermist within a few hours.
Keep dry, blood free as much as possible. Freeze in plastic bag or take to your taxidermist as soon as possible.
FULL BODY MOUNTS
Let your taxidermist do the skinning, don't take a chance on ruining your trophy unless you are sure of the updated methods of skinning.
